Some children need extra support with social communication skills, including conversation, turn-taking, and understanding social cues.
Therapy may focus on:
starting and maintaining conversations
understanding social language
taking turns in interaction
building confidence when communicating with others
-
Parent involvement is one of the most powerful ways to support a child’s communication development. I provide parent coaching to help caregivers learn practical strategies they can use in everyday routines such as playtime, mealtime, and reading.
This allows communication skills to grow naturally throughout the child’s daily environment.

Many families reach out when their toddler is not yet talking, is using only a few words, or becomes frustrated trying to communicate. Speech therapy for toddlers focuses on building early communication skills through play, routines, and interaction.
Therapy may help children who:
are not using words by 18 months
are not combining words by age 2–3
rely mostly on gestures instead of words
have difficulty understanding simple directions
Early support can help toddlers develop language skills and confidence in communicating with others.
-
Some children develop speech and language skills later than expected. Speech therapy for late talkers focuses on helping children expand their vocabulary, combine words, and communicate more clearly.
Sessions often include:
play-based language activities
modeling and expanding language
helping children learn to express their needs and ideas
Parent coaching is also included so families can continue supporting language development at home.
-
Children with language delays may have difficulty understanding language, expressing their thoughts, or both. Therapy focuses on strengthening vocabulary, sentence structure, and comprehension skills.
Speech therapy may help children who:
struggle to follow directions
have difficulty answering questions
use shorter or simpler sentences than peers
have trouble telling stories or describing events
